Palo Alto, Calif. June 15, 2006 - AppStream, Inc.,
a leader in on-demand application deployment and management, today announced four new executive hires.
The company named Gary Botta, vice president of strategic accounts; Paul Valcheff, vice president of
business development, Brad Rowland, vice president of marketing and product management; and Suneet
Nandwani, director of engineering.
The new hires round out the company's existing veteran
management team. Collectively they will deliver on AppStream's goal to lead the on-demand application deployment
market by offering a powerful combination of streaming and virtualization support.
The executive team will leverage their combined years of
experience to bring to market a new version of its award-winning, on-demand AppStream platform that will support
both streaming and virtualization capabilities. A new AppStream platform will be announced later this month.
Also, as part of AppStream's virtualization strategy, partnerships with virtualization vendors will be announced throughout the year.
The powerful streaming/virtualization combination gives IT
customers flexibility in application provisioning, license management, version control and virtualization all from
one central location. End users gain self-service access to applications exactly when they need them at the right
level of security and functionality, freeing up resources for other critical IT tasks.
"We will apply the same level of innovation in rolling out
virtualization as we did with streaming applications, setting a new standard in how desktop applications are deployed,
managed and used," said Srinivasa Venkataraman, chief operating officer of AppStream. "Our management team will execute
these strategies and allow us to focus on strong growth over the coming year. We are very pleased with the new appointments
to our team." Based on current year revenue and changing market factors, AppStream expects to more than double its growth
in the coming year."
"New executives and strategies come at a time of increased industry
acceptance of virtualization and continued adoption of new 'software as a service' models," said Jim Sha, chief executive
officer of AppStream. "Our vision continues to be new software delivery models that focus on reducing costs, increasing
the speed of innovation, and removing barriers to access; whether in the enterprise, consumer or emerging markets."
