Ranken uses AppStream technology to control the distribution of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, AutoDesk and AutoCAD to students throughout the college, and to manage software licensing.
Ranken allows students to access desktop software via the AppStream portal. Students can install software that is set to expire on a specified date, ensuring that licensing remains under Ranken’s control. AppStream software licensing management enables Ranken to save on IT costs and resources by centralizing and automating the administration of software licenses, minimizing waste of technical resources, managing software license compliance and automatically eliminating applications from the end user’s PC upon license expiration.
AppStream keeps software licensing expenses down by allowing remote desktop streaming of applications as an alternative to installing desktop software on each PC.
