Scalability Architecture
The AppStream on-demand software distribution platform is designed to be scalable — scalable geographically as well as scalable across thousands of supported PCs. AppStream is designed to support large global enterprises with offices requiring remote access from multiple disparate locations.
Scalability
First, the AppStream on-demand software distribution architecture is inherently scalable. Since all application processing takes place at clients, a single AppStream server can scale to support hundreds and hundreds of end users. And centralized, server-based management and control makes even the largest AppStream deployments administratively scalable.
Multi-tier Configuration
Second, when required (based on the number of PCs to be supported and/or broad geographic distribution), AppStream can be deployed in a multi-tier configuration with multiple servers arrayed along parent-child relationships, facilitating remote access as well as high volume on-demand software distribution. In order to provide efficient package distribution throughout the enterprise, this tree structure can grow indefinitely while remaining centrally administered.
Multi-dimensional Load Balancing
AppStream also provides for multi-dimensional load balancing to increase performance and reliability in any sized deployment.
